El Barrio Tacos & Tequila
About
This neighborhood spot sources regional Mexican cooking across multiple traditions—expect the kind of mole that requires hours of grinding spices, fresh masa pressed daily, and seafood preparations that reflect coastal techniques from Veracruz to the Yucatan Peninsula. The tequila and mezcal selection goes beyond the expected, prioritizing small-batch producers and expressions that reveal terroir rather than chase trends. Counter seating and family-style tables create the casual, unpretentious atmosphere of a proper fonda, where the focus stays on technique and ingredient quality rather than plating spectacle.
